We had Thanksgiving with my family at my parent's house on Thanksgiving day this year. It was kind of nice to have a smaller group and spend more quality time together. The food was delicious as always, and it was hard not to fill my plate four or five times. ;) Laura and I helped Mom out in the kitchen, and I made my favorite sweet potato casserole, from Reba McEntire's recipe. I was so happy that it was a big hit! We also enjoyed turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, noodles and rolls, with pumpkin and apple pies for dessert. After dinner, we watched some football, played a Thanksgiving game, and read the notes everyone wrote with what they were thankful for. It was a great day, and I am so thankful we got to spend it with some of my family. I ended up staying the night at my parent's since I had Friday off work, and we concluded the night watching "White Christmas." On Friday, I helped my parent's decorate their house for Christmas. What a chore! Mom has about 60 boxes in their attic that had to be carried down the stairs to the kitchen. It takes at least a full weekend to completely finish the job, but we got quite a lot done by Friday night. Kyhle and I decorated our apartment on Saturday morning, and I loved having Kyhle help put up our tree. A great time was had by all. :)
